Ryder Point Barn is a fabulous Derbyshire Holiday Cottage which has recently been renovated providing the luxury of contemporary living in the fabric of a traditionally built limestone barn , The conversion has been done to a very high standard, providing luxury self catering accommodation with stunning rural views located on the edge of the Peak District National Park
The Peak District is an area of great natural beauty with rugged, peat-covered moorlands and magnificent limestone dales great for walking and cycling, as well as bird watching plus picturesque villages.
On entering the cottage you will find an open plan living area which offers warm and cosy accommodation with underfloor heating. The modern fully equipped kitchen including integrated microwave, dishwasher , washing machine and has a stylish breakfast bar which seats six. An outside Garden and patio area offers the perfect place for enjoying summer evenings and provides outside table and chairs with bbq chimineer .coming soon in 2012 summer season Hot tub .
The lounge area has two sumptuous leather settees with one being a sofa bed. There is a flat screen TV ,wyfi wall mounted electric modern fire which offers a tranquil and perfect space to relax after a day exploring the lovely Peaks and Dales .
Upstairs there are two spacious bedrooms. One offering a double bed with the benefit of a luxury double shower en-suite.
The second bedroom provides twin beds with the same opulent feel and located next door is a well fitted bathroom. The upstairs accommodation is deceptively spacious, with fully fitted carpet and plentiful storage. These rooms provide the guest with the cosy cottage feel to enhance a restful nights sleep. Things you should know about Ryder Point Barn: One well behaved dog allowed but please note that dogs are not allowed upstairs and must be kept off furniture ,you may use the adjoining field only if sheep are not in it, otherwise keep on a lead if in close proximity of animals.
Tourist Attractions: Its location is ideal for visiting the famous Chatsworth House which is only a twenty minute drive away. Spend a day or two at the stunning Carrisington Waterwhich offers many sporting activities including Sailing, Windsurfing and Canoeing and you can even hire a bike and cycle the ten mile circular route of the reservoir. Also on the door step is The Heights of Abraham which has a Caverns and Hill top park with wonderful woodland walks and the famous Cable Car which rise from the valley floor, the observation cars transport you in comfort and safety and allow stunning views of the Derwent Valley and surrounding Peak District.
Sporting Activities: Cycling on the High Peak Trail takes the line of the former Cromford and High Peak Railway between Parsley Hey and Cromford. This railway is worth a brief description because of its unique nature. For Golf lovers, Ashbourne Golf Club golf course which has won acclaim among the members and has proved to be a challenge for both high and low handicaps and offers spectacular views into Dovedale and the Peak District.Carsington Water also offers a full range of water sports activities and cycling trail.
Drinking and Eating: A must is Ye Olde Gate Inn which is situated in the heart of the village of Brassington and a simply the perfect winter pub: you won’t find a cosier place in the country. It’s nearly 400 years old, and you can feel the history. Visitors enjoy a menu that ranges from old pub favourites like filled baguettes, ploughman’s, homemade Steak and Guinness Pie to locally caught Trout, Steaks and Duck with Mango Compote

A short drive away is The Red Lion Inn at Hognaston and well worth a visit. Dining at the Red Lion is a real pleasure, whenever you visit us. Crich Tramway Museum Easter 1940’s Weekend 08-09th April 2012
You may need your tin hat and gas mask if you visit Crich Tramway Village during its special 1940s Weekend on Easter Sunday and Monday 8th and 9th April. You can expect air-raid warnings and the sound of low flying aircraft and you will need your identity card for a real taste of life during the Second World War.

Chatsworth Country Fair 31st August- Sunday 2nd September 2012
Held in the park of Chatsworth House, home to the Dukes of Devonshire, the 2012 event will be the 31st Country Fair. It has become one of the largest events of its type in England, and is an essential part of the Derbyshire and Midlands calendar. Given good weather, crowds of the order of 90,000 people can be expected over the three days. The focus of the Show is the Grand Ring on the “big flat", with over 300 trade stands and crafts. Around the park are over 40 showground attractions, many with a country theme.

Matlock Bath Illuminations 3rd September - 29th October 2012
Matlock Bath Illuminations feature a unique parade of illuminated and decorated boats on the River Derwent every weekend throughout September and October. Each boat carries a decorated model and as darkness falls the boats disappear into the blackness below, leaving the models apparently gliding along just above the water.
