The Forge Review- 2

Things to do

Odd Cottage is located in Oddington, a quintessential Cotswold village with its honey coloured stone cottages and is perfectly placed for visiting the many key tourist attractions.

Nearby Cotswold Villages

Stow-on-the-Wold is only a 5 minute drive and is a delightful market town with a vast Market Square and a lovely selection of shops, galleries and tea rooms. Burford is a pretty small medieval town with an excellent selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and only 10 miles from the cottage.  Broadway is a hidden gem with fantastic shops, restaurants and pubs.

Bourton-on-the-Water is regularly voted one of the prettiest villages in England and is under 15 minutes drive from the cottage.

Birdland Park in Bouton-on-the-Water is a beautiful setting for a day out and inhabits over 500 birds. Hidcote Manor Garden is located just 30 minutes away - an Arts and Crafts garden created by Major Lawrence Johnston, gardens are split into “rooms” of individual design.

Mill Dene Garden which is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This romantic garden is set around a lovely mill and includes a misty grotto, a bog garden and stream. There are plenty of seats from which to enjoy the mill pond and its trout, kingfisher and ducks.

Blenheim Palace at Woodstock is a firm favourite and fabulous all year round. Birthplace of our “Greatest Briton” - Winston Churchill, the magnificent palace is the ancestral home to the Dukes of Marlborough. Access to the palace, the park and gardens is available from 13th February and in our opinion well worth the entrance fee.

Railway Exhibition and Toy Shop located in Bouton-on-the-Water boasts a comprehensive Model Railway collection plus a vast array of other toys to keep the children and adults happy.

Cotswold Motor Museum also in Bouton-on-the-Water (15 minute drive) is a truly fascinating journey through the 20th Century, overflowing with vintage and classic cars and caravans, precarious looking motorcycles, original enamel signs and an intriguing collection of motoring curiosities, it is a genuinely captivating experience for all the family.
