Please read these Terms of Business carefully before booking. By making a reservation with us, you are deemed to have read and accepted them.

Blue Lagoon Holiday Cottages

Blue Lagoon Holiday cottages ("the Agent") is a specialist in the provision of self catering holiday cottages in The Cotswolds, Derbyshire and North Wales. The company has several properties of their own and is also engaged by private clients for holiday rental properties.
A binding contract between the Client (you) and the Owner of the accommodation shall be entered into on the Agency issuing the booking confirmation as agent for the Owner. The Client (you) is responsible for payment of the price of the accommodation and the compliance of his/hers invited members who will be sharing the accommodation.

1. Booking procedure and conditions of booking

a. Confirmation of Bookings can be made via our on-line booking system or via email to anna@bluelagoon.co.uk.

30% deposit payment will be due at the time of booking.

b CHAPS, BACS/Bill Payments - we can only accept these methods of payment, in pounds sterling (GBP),

We no longer except Cheque

d. A Security Bond of £300.00 is required for all bookings which exceed 6 people (excluding infants in cots) in addition to the Booking Fee and is due when the final balance is paid. This must be paid either by bank transfer or by cheque. We reserve the right at Our sole discretion to deduct any costs associated with breach of the Booking Terms or replacement of any broken/damaged items from the Security Bond. If the charges payable by you exceed the Security Bond, then you will be liable for the balance.  We also reserve the right to charge you, if we are unable to let the property as a consequence of any damage caused by you. Security Bonds or the balance will be returned by bank transfer 7 days after departure.

Please Note: The owner reserves the right to ask for a damage deposit even if numbers have not exceeded 6 and the same terms and conditions apply as above and the amount can increase above £300 in certian circumstances.

e. If the holiday is booked less than one month in advance then the whole booking fee will be payable upon confirmation of booking.

f.The contract is only formed when we receive the deposit and booking confirmation form which must include a full names of all persons sleeping at the property. We reserve the right to refuse any booking for any reason.

g. Only the named people detailed on the booking form will be entitled to occupy the cottage.

h. Bookings from minors under the age of 18 years cannot be accepted.

i. Bookings which are over a week long will receive a obligatory service clean and change of bed linen/towels.

j. Please note that prices do not include holiday insurance and we highly recommend you take out separate insurance cover.

2. Amendments

a. At the Agent’s sole discretion, changes may be made to the booking including:
(1) change of dates
(2) addition or reduction in number of guests (subject to apartment maximums)
(3) change of Client (being named guest making booking)

b. Any changes made once a reservation has been confirmed will incur a charge of £15 unless agreed by the Agent.

c. The Agent reserves the right to refuse any requested changes for any reason.
d. In the unlikely event that the property becomes unavailable or uninhabitable and we are unable to locate you to an alternative property, which is suitable, we reserve the right to cancel the booking and contract with you and will refund all amounts already paid. However we will not be liable for any losses incurred by yourself for your holiday being canceled.

3. Cancellations

a. Deposits and final payments are non refundable and if you cancel your holiday booking or if you are not able to get to the property due to severe weather conditions no refund will be offered.

b. If you wish to pass on your confirmed booking period to any third party, you must have the prior approval from the Agent.

c. You will still be liable for any debts/damages caused by the third party unless we have agreed  the transfer of the booking in writing. Transferring the booking to another party will incur a handling charge of £15.

4. Damages

a.You are responsible for normal everyday cleaning and keeping the property in an orderly fashion. The accommodation is inspected prior to all arrivals so we are satisfied that the accommodation is at its best for you. You will be liable for any damages, breakages, losses and any extra cleaning or repairs which are incurred due to your non-compliance with this condition. Fair wear and tear is excepted.

b. We do not provide insurance for your personal effects and it is therefore advised, that you make arrangements for insurance cover for your personal effects or check your existing house insurance cover.

c. We reserve the right to enter the property at any reasonable time to inspect the cottage and/or carry out any necessary repairs or maintenance.

5. Arrival/Departure times

a. Check in time is 4 pm . Check out time is 10 am. Failure to depart on time may result in a extra charge levy of £50. If you require times outside of the above, this must be agreed by management in writing at the time of booking.

6. Liabilities and responsibilities

a. Blue Lagoon Holiday cottages act solely as an agent and not as principal for many of the Cottages.

b. The Owners cannot be held responsible for the breakdown of equipment at The Property including kitchen or other domestic equipment and although they will do their upmost to get it repaired or replaced they can only do this a reasonably time scale. Nor are they responsible for the interruption in supply of utilities such as electricity, water or gas to The Property.

c. The Owners cannot be held responsible for noise or disturbance arising outside the boundaries of the grounds of The Property or from sources beyond their reasonable control, including but not limited to, noise from agricultural equipment or activity, road, rail or air traffic, noise or nuisance from domesticated or wild animals or birds.

d. You are responsible for the accommodation equipment during the period and is expected to take all reasonable care of it. You are advised to check on arrival and report any shortcomings, damage or missing items immediately to Blue Lagoon Holiday Cottages or their local representative so that the matter can be remedied for you.

7. Complaints

a. Any complaints must be notified immediately so that an investigation can be made if necessary and any remedial action taken if required. Complaints will not be accepted after the tenancy has ended.

8. Dogs

a. Dogs must be agreed access prior to the confirmed booking. You will be responsible for any damages that your dog cause during your stay and for any additional cleaning that may be required (in our opinion). Only select Cottage accept dogs, please check before booking. There is an extra charge of £15.

b. Dogs must be kept under control & their own baskets blankets/towels must be provided. Dogs are not allowed in the bedrooms. You must clear up if dogs foul in the outside area. Your dog should be wormed.

c. You may leave your dog on their own in the property for a minimal amount of time as we understand its difficult to take them in the car, but we ask you to leave your dog in the downstairs/ kitchen/ hall area and shut all doors to bedrooms and lounge making sure you leave dog bed/crate for your dog to sit in. But please note any damage caused by your dog will be charged.

c. No other animals (apart from dogs which have been agreed and paid for) are allowed inside or in the grounds of the property and we reserve the right terminate your holiday condition is broken.

9. Number of persons sleeping and restrictions of use of accommodation

a. The number of persons using the accommodation shall not exceed the maximum number agreed because of fire regulations and insurance purposes.

b. The accommodation can not be used for any dangerous, offensive, noisy, illegal or immoral activities or carry on there any act that may be a nuisance or annoyance to the Owner or to any neighbours. Nor can the accommodation be used for Stag/Hen Parties.

10.Governing Law

The construction, validity and performance of the Agreement shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts in England andWales.
